Case study - Promoting the use of incense when practicing yoga in collaboration with KOL

In cooperation with a KOL (Key Opinion Leader) who has many experiences and achievements in the yoga industry in Vietnam, we created a promotional video for the incense brand “Morning Star”, distributed the content to the community which is belonging to KOL and the customer such as Youtube Channel and social media accounts and ran ads in advertising platforms to promote the use of incense to target audience through the promotional videos.

 

In addition, some yoga studios operated by KOL also provided sample products of “Morning Star” introduced in the video to yoga studio customers.

Background of promotion planning

Nippon Kodo Vietnam Trading sells their own incense and fragrance products in Vietnam. One of their main incense brands-"Morning Star" has more than 16 types of scents, and the colorful packaging that is color-coded according to the scent is eye-catching.

 

In Vietnam, incense sticks are familiar to people because they are used at Buddhist altars and graves.However, the incense to enjoy the scent such as what Nippon Kodo Vietnam Trading is selling have not been known well yet.

 

On the other hand, while distributing various information through the customer’s Facebook fan page, information to control the mind, such as yoga and meditation, got responses from their audience.

 

Based on this status, we conducted a promotion in collaboration with KOL who have a track record in the yoga industry in Vietnam in order to promote the style of choosing the favorite scent and burning incense when doing yoga.

 

This promotion is planned and proposed by Shiba Marketing Solutions. We plan and propose various marketing plans according to the customer's demands and circumstances.

Assign appropriate KOL in line with marketing plan

"Luna Thai", the KOL of this promotion, is the founder of "Yoga Luna Thai", which operates a yoga studio chain mainly in Hanoi, has advanced qualifications from Yoga Alliance, and has experience teaching yoga to many students. She has been widely exposed to the media in Vietnam such as Dân trí , VN express , 24h.com.vn , Eva.vn , Vietnamnet.vn , tienphong.vn , Soha , Zingnews.vn , baomoi.com, afamily , etc. She has a large community on Facebook, Youtube, Tiktok and other social media with a total of over 500,000 followers.

 

We have KOL test the product, and KOL’s recommended scents and the benefits of burning incense when doing yoga were mentioned in the video.

 

Shiba Marketing Solutions support customers in assigning KOL in line with the marketing plan by utilizing our own network and negotiating with new KOLs.

Production and distribution of promotional videos

We created a promotional video script and storyboard according to the distribution destination and purpose of the advertisement, and shot it at the shooting studio. Various screens necessary for the project, such as product introductions by KOL, scenes enabling people to use incense when doing yoga, how to burn incense (detailed ways how to light, how to extinguish, etc.) have been shoot.

 

The video was distributed on social media owned by KOL, Nippon Kodo Vietnam's Facebook fan page and homepage, and advertisement distribution on major advertising platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and Google(Youtube).

About Nippon Kodo Vietnam Trading

Nippon Kodo Vietnam Trading has started selling their own incense and fragrance products in Vietnam since 2017. They sell incense brands such as “Morning Star” and “Kayuragi”, as well as fragrance brands such as “Gonesh” and “Estban”, mainly types that can be used in the car. They are handling more than 200 products. In addition to being sold at fragrance specialty stores and retailers that handle Japanese products, various content distribution and promotions are also being conducted online, mainly on Facebook, and their Facebook fan page has 18,000 followers (as of 2022).
